The new Adobe Air is awesome, lemme tell ya… It’s just awesome.

“Adobe AIR is a cross-platform runtime environment for building rich Internet applications using Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, HTML, or Ajax, that can be deployed as a desktop application (so called Browserless).” - Wikipedia

So what this basically means is that you can now run your favorite web-apps such as Gmail and Flickr right from your desktop. Apparently it’s very easy to develop for Air since there’s already a whole bunch of different apps waiting for you to try them out. The apps themselves are very lightweight and can do everything that you would be able to in a normal browser window.

Currently I’m running a couple of different apps.

To get started running Adobe Air click here, when you’re set you might to check out the app repository.

Since Adobe Air is crossplatform these apps run on Macs and PCs alike. And the best thing of all… It’s Free!
